The Sherwood State Bank

The Sherwood State Bank was formed in 1945 by a group of local business and community members who saw the need for a local Independent Community Bank. As the years passed, we found our business market expanding to the Defiance area we opened an in-store branch location. On August 22, 2000, after 55 years of successfully serving the Sherwood community, a second full-service branch office was opened in Defiance, Ohio. A third branch was established on March 23, 2001, when the Bank was approached by a group of community members from Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, about the need for a community bank in their location. The expansion continued as a full service facility was established in downtown Defiance on June 14, 2004.
