In June of 1938, E.H. Fuller, President, and A.A. McLain, Secretary formally created The Defiance Civic Club, Inc. shortly thereafter, in April 1941, J.P. Reed and E.E. Bair, the new President and Secretary, formally changed the name of the organization to the Defiance Chamber of Commerce. By February of 1966, due to the growth of the organization, Charles Caughron, President of the organization and T.H. Bridenbaugh, Secretary, changed the name to its present day form: The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC).
The Chamber is a membership funded organization and is independent of all other organizations/groups. It is also a resource center providing complete information for visitors, newcomers, business prospects and clients. The DACC works with every aspect of community life and provides assistance when needed. Our program involves areas of economic development, small business assistance, legislative affairs, tourism, long range planning.
