The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee provides the "policy clearing house" function. Committee recommendations flow from the Executive Committee to the Board of Directors for policy vote. This committee consists of the Chair of the Board, the Vice Chair, Immediate Past-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer as well as the President/CEO. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce's Finance Committee approves and monitors the financial direction and stability of the Chamber. This committee currently consists of the Treasurer, President/CEO and four (4) additional members from the Board of Directors. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Committee handles any and all legislative issues. It consists of Board of Director Members, representatives from general chamber membership, and locally elected government officials. Government Affairs is heavily active with elected officials and their staffs, as well as representatives from businesses. This committee recommends policies that would include any interaction and/or recommendations ensuing from that action which deals with local, regional, state or federal governmental issues. The DACC has a strong partnership with the City of Defiance and Defiance County. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
Public Affairs Committee
The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee coordinates and processes all issue requests received by the chamber on state and local issues. This committee supports and coordinates community growth and development through non-financial assistance and maintains enhanced communications with local, state and national representatives and governmental agencies. This group consists of President/CEO and five (5) members of Board of Directors. Community members are also encouraged to participate. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce Sponsorship Committee handles any and all of the solicitation requests for all annual chamber events. This committee’s function is to promote and provide members with opportunities to support the chamber, gain recognition and exposure for their business and employees through volunteering, contributing auction items and/or sponsorship dollars, or vying for an award. This committee consists of Vice Chair, President/CEO, and five (5) additional members from the Board of Directors. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
Marketing and Retention Committee
The Marketing and Retention Committee is responsible for determining the plan of action and methods for communicating information to the membership and the community. This committee also evaluates membership benefits and other factors that may influence membership retention. It is the goal of this committee to maintain a well informed and satisfied membership. This committee consists of the Marketing/Events Coordinator, along with six (6) additional members from the Board of Directors. This committee reports to the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors
The Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is responsible for policy governance for the DACC. It is also responsible for the strategies and direction for the Chamber. All DACC policy decisions are made at the Board level. The Board of Directors consists of a minimum of 20 Directors, and the President/CEO. Elected Officers of the Board are the Chair, Vice-Chair, Immediate Past Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary.
