Event Description:

In Celebration of National Ag Week - March 17-23, 2013, the Ohio State University Extension, the Defiance Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an Agricultural Appreciation Breakfast on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Defiance Knight's of Columbus Hall. The program will begin with a Farmer's Share Breakfast at 8:00am followed by the keynote speaker, Dr. Jeffrey Rogers, State Climatologist for Ohio, with the program concluding by 10:00am.

The Defiance County agriculture industry has high impact value and equally high impact people. These individuals serve or have served as leaders, role models, innovators, entrepreneurs, and conservationists. We will formally recognize their efforts with an Agriculture Hall of Fame for Defiance County. The 2013 Agriculture Hall of Fame honors will be presented at the Agriculture Appreciation Breakfast.

The Keynote speaker wil be Dr. Jeffrey Rogers, State Climatologist for Ohio, Professor, Department of Geography, The Ohio State University. Presentation will discuss Ohio weather and climate trends.

If you are not familiar with a Farmer's Share Breakfast, participants of the event will pay the approximate amount that a farmer is paid from typical breakfast menu prices. Our breakfast menu for March 19th is scrambled eggs w/ toppings, pancakes w/ syrup, sausage gravy w/ biscuits, homefries, sausage links, breakfast roles, muffins, coffeecake, fresh fruit bowl, assorted yogurts, orange juice, milk and coffee. The menu price of these items totals $8.50 but we will be charging $2.00 per person for this Farmer's Share Breakfast and program.
